Poly drawback moment

I had reblogged some time ago about a poly family in difficult financial times because the legal system doesn’t recognize the multiple relationships.

I had my side of papers in order in my poly relationship with a man who was married to another. Sometimes even that cannot protect us.

In the aftermath of a major betrayal by my beloved Writer,     he and his wife have access to the mental health benefits of his health insurance. My insurance as a self employed person on obamacare is not so beefy. That sucks.

The only light in all of this is that Writer’s wife is communicating with me. While his actions most directly affected me, she is not without fallout. I had to explain to her that he is out of my home not simply because he has their home to go, that even if he and I had been married and mono I would have required him to leave, at least for now.. Possibly forever. Time will tell.

In the meantime, my bank account will dwindle faster because we had no legal standing for me to be on his insurance. Years as partners counts as nothing to the insurance industry.
